FAQs
When should I do a pregnancy test?
While it can be possible to receive accurate results before missing a period, pregnancy tests are most accurate on the first day of your missed period.
Can I get an ultrasound at Haven Health to confirm pregnancy?
Our center offers limited obstetric ultrasounds to confirm three things. 1) Is the baby in the uterus? 2) Is there a heartbeat? 3) How far along is the pregnancy? You can set up an appointment for the ultrasound once you have a positive pregnancy test at our clinic.
What are my options if I am pregnant?
Once you have a verified pregnancy, you have three options to consider: parenting, adoption and abortion. Finding out you are pregnant can cause a wide-range of emotions, so we encourage you to talk to a family member or friend you trust. Our staff is more than willing to discuss your options with you and those you choose to include in your decision-making process. No one should be pressured into making a decision about their pregnancy. We want to provide a safe place for you to make the healthiest decision possible.
Do you offer Plan B or the Morning After Pill?
We do not provide emergency contraception, however, we can discuss how it works and possible side effects of its usage. For more information call 706-235-6833
If I am under 18, do I need my parent’s permission to have a pregnancy test or ultrasound?
Because pregnancy testing can often lead to a wide range of follow-up discussions, we encourage all of our patients to talk to a family member or friend that they trust. If you choose, you may bring them to the appointment. However, because of the Sexual Health laws in Ga, we are able to provide full testing to you without parental consent. We pride ourselves on making your health and confidentiality our top priority.
When will I get my results?
The results of your pregnancy test will be given to you while you are at your appointment. The ultrasound results will be called to you the next day after our doctor reads the images.
What if my menstrual cycle (period) is irregular?
Some women experience irregular menstrual cycles, so if you think you might be pregnant, it is still good to have a pregnancy test done.
